Fun fact: Friends, family, and everyone with normal vision calls me Charlie Brown. Keep in mind, I’ve never once said, “Good grief” nor have I...
The photos from the freak-fest known as Holy Ship! just don’t stop coming. Yesterday we posted a boat-load of photos you can see here but...
You’re waiting for your new date to come over to your house and you’re hustling like mad to get the crib half-way decent. You’ve already...
Full disclosure, I wanted to go to Holy Ship very, very badly. Thankfully, a photographer named Rony Alwin was there and snapped some incredible photos...
Add another festival to the bucket list because this morning the powers-that-be behind Coachella released their 2012 lineup. Notable headlines include Snoop & Dre, Radiohead,...
50 Cent's fifth studio album still has a lot of question marks surronding it but 2 days ago he leaked, "Girls Go Wild" the first single off the as yet to be titled record, which features Jeremih. 50's garnered a lot of media attention lately, mostly for his intention to cut ties with Interscope but also for his very introspective (borderline suicidal) tweets. Give the new joint a listen and let us know what you think in the comments.
The guy who showed you how to get a kiss from a Hooters Girl is back with this music video for "Eenie Meenie Minie Mo" - a song that details how he - David "The Gug" - gets his drink on. His skills are actually kinda tight as are his chugging abilities but it definitely could've used more chicks (preferably those hot bartenders he mentioned). When your sh*t starts with a white news reporter in blackface, you know it's only gonna get more f***ed up. Click through to see the vid and download the track.
You ever play a guitar that went out of tune in the middle of a performance? It sucks. But the whole “tuning” thing sucks worse because strings, by definition and physics, go out of tune as they’re being played. So how can electronics pick up the slack? Check Korg's PitchClip inside for more information.
Whether you're hosting a party or pre-gaming before hitting up the club, you need to bust out some tune-age. By now, most people are tired of hearing Party Anthem, so why not drop a ball of supremely unique beats and tracks from the peeps at RCRD LBL? Their NYE playlist features joints from Wild Light, The John Henrys, Class Actress, Doldrums, Atlas Sound, and The Internet (great band name). There's no better way to guarantee a kiss at midnight. Send a one finger salute to '11 after the jump.
While you can go to most music websites to find out which albums and songs they felt were the best of the year, they often...

2011 was a great year for music. Multiple genres - from indie rock to rap to pop to country - all had huge years. We saw the emergence of brand new power players (Adele, LMFAO), consistency from the staples (Kayne West, Rihanna, Lady Antebellum, Foo Fighters), solid debuts from important breakthrough artists, (Foster the People, Frank Ocean) and quality sophomore releases from breaking stars (Bon Iver, Drake). We got introduced to Spotify and the cloud. Music even brought an influx of reality TV shows all geared towards finding the next best thing in music (X-Factor, The Voice, American Idol). Click through to see Al Jones' Top 30 Songs of 2011.
On December 16th, the DJ super-group the Swedish House Mafia came to Manhattan to play at MSG. The party raged until approximately 1 in the morning, at which point they took it to the Roseland Ballroom. I was one of the few New Yorkers who missed the show, but luckily the show was streamed live via Fuse TV. That broadcast is now available on Vimeo, which you can see after the jump, and the 2-hour mp3 is also available. Click through for all that sweet Swede swagger.
Run DMC's Christmas in Hollis is one of the best holiday songs - otherwise it wouldn't have made it onto our Ultimate Christmas Playlist. So, what could possibly make this legendary track any better? How about listening to it while scoping out the lyrics on your iPhone complete with emoticons. This definitely give the "Notorious Siri" video a run for its gift card. I smell a rap battle, y'all. Watch the vid then vote in our poll after the jump.
Newsflash big guy, you've got less than the 12 days of Christmas before the big day is here and if you're someone who celebrates Hanukkah, then you've got even less time. If you haven't figured out what you're getting, don't worry. Take a deep breath and check out our gift guide. We've got something for pretty much everyone, separated into six different categories: DVDs, Videogames, gifts for the nerd, swag for those who need to stay fresh, gear for those outdoorsy types, and some sound products for the audiophile. Check it out after the jump.
Band names have always been oddballs: the Smashing Pumpkins, the Goo Goo Dolls, Bush. It’s not like we expected this to change — for Korn to suddenly spell their name with a “C” and start promoting the second tier of the food pyramid. I almost think that having a good band name is more important than having a good band (but that's why I'm not a musician). Time has proven that the weird names prevail, and we’ve got proof. Here’s a list of some of the weirdest, most out there band names we’ve come across.
Chiddy Bang's "Ray Charles" won top honors in our last SOTW poll, beating out Chris Brown's "All Back". Beating might not be the best choice of words when "Chris Brown" is in the same sentence. Anyway, this week's nominations include jams from Avicii, Flo Rida, Wilco, Bon Iver, and The Band Perry. What? Country? We know, it's scary. Check out which tracks made the cut then vote for your favorite after the jump-off.
I didn't watch the American Country Awards last night, but apparently I missed some serious cleavage from Kristin Chenoweth. The award-winning actress / singer gave reigning country music queen Carrie Underwood a run for her money. But, the real discovery here is Danelle Leverett, member of The Jane Dear Girls. She looks like a cross between Amber Heard and Denise Richards. Check out pics from the red carpet after the jump.
When I look at the Who's Who of people making it famous as rappers, I see dudes like Lil Wayne, Drake, and Childish Gambino. Yawn. Those guys aren't even rapping, they're just talking to a beat. When I see this kid, though and I'm actually amazed because he has actual flow. This two-year is on a whole other level than you guys, that's why you can't understand him. Check out the real Lil Lil after the jump!
If you're a rapper who likes to make it rain or addicted to the smell of baby wipes, dim lighting, and flowery-smelling lotions (i.e. me), you just can't enough of the strip club. A lot of dudes think it's just one big wallet-draining cock tease, but those of us with ingenuity know to wear silk or stain shorts without underwear when receiving a lap dance. Still, with the economy sucking dong, we long for the days when, as N.E.R.D. put it, "You can get this lap dance here for free". Well, now it's come true with RCRD LBL's Lap Dance playlist. Check it out then download all the tracks for free after the jump.
Calling all twinkle toes. Forget words, the power of the dance is the deepest form of expression. The way you sway, swoon, drop it like it’s hot or pop, lock and drop speaks volumes. And some moves should be avoided at all cost. In honor of Dumb Dances Day on November 29th, when you can shamelessly exercise your patriotic right to shake a leg, we've compiled a list of dumb dances to wholeheartedly embrace… just make sure you throw a few back beforehand.
If you're sick of listening to the play-by-play commentary during the NFL games or the sound of your aunt's voice is making your brain leak or your Friendsgiving could use a soundtrack, we've got just the (cranberry) jams for you! The rad crew at RCRDLBL has compiled two Thanksgiving-themed playlists for your jive turkey @ss - The Good and the Bad. No ugly, though - we've got plenty of that goin' on the TV. Baste your brains with thick beats after the jump.
Last week, we had a tie between And It Spread by The Avett Brothers and Drake's Crew Love. Just goes to show how diverse our listening palate's are at COED. In this week's edition of Al Jones' SOTW, we feature tracks from Janelle Monae, Wild Flag, Chris Brown, Chiddy Bang, and Blitzen Trapper. Take a listen then vote for your favorite after the jump!
