ABOUT Giovanna
University of Texas at Austin, Junior
I love my college because…
everything is bigger in Texas and my school is better than the rest. UT is one of the biggest party schools in the nation, boasting events like Round Up, a three-day Greek event full of concerts including Migos, Rich Homie Quan, K CAMP, and Travis Porter. Aside from that, its academics make it one of the most prestigious schools in the nation. Engineering, business, and education rank among top programs. In my field, UT is the third best public relations school in the country. Football games are an event unparalleled to any other. The culture is amazing and Austin nightlife is one for the books with 6th Street, home of over 60 bars.
I really hate when…
people feel the need to flaunt their wealth. If you have it, you shouldn’t have to justify it. You should be modest yet indulge in nice things.
I major in…
Spanish and Public Relations. This spring, I’ll be studying in Granada, Spain and traveling through Europe. One day, I hope to work at a fashion publication managing PR and traveling frequently. Being bilingual is a challenge for me and a lifelong goal.
At school, you can find me…
as a member of Alpha Xi Delta at UT and I manage all of the social media accounts. I’m also a Texas Sweetheart and a member of Texas Belles, an event planning organization.
My ideal first date would be…
something outdoorsy. I like to hike, swim, and enjoy just being outside in warm weather. My ideal first date would involve kayaking or some sort of activity followed by a low-key picnic and an opportunity to get to know the guy.
My favorite late night study snack is definitely…
HOT CHEETOS. With limon please!
If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…
go skydiving. This is something I’ve been mustering up the courage to do for some time. Although I’m afraid of heights, I’m an adrenaline junkie and I like exciting new things. More than anything I appreciate a view. And what better view than from a plane at 10,000 feet???
Words from my high school self…
“You’ve turned out okay.” I used to worry that other friends were always in the spotlight while I was in the shadows. I’ve become a lot more confident and proud of who I am and what I stand for.
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I’m very familiar with the competition and now I want a shot of my own.
