University of Mississippi, Junior

I love my college because…

I wanted to go somewhere away from home, but close enough to home at the same time and Ole Miss was perfect! My older brother was a cheerleader there for four years, two of which I was in high school and my parents and I went to every football game throughout high school so it was almost like I was a student there already. It just made sense for me to go there and nowhere else. Not to mention Oxford is the most beautiful place and everyone knows what a fun time it is!

I really hate when…

people tell me to chill out! That makes me want to scream and definitely makes me want to be less chill than I was before. Second, I would have to say when people smack their food/gum and slurp their food. Spit is disgusting to look at and when I hear it, it drives me nuts! Keep that in your mouth!

I major in…

Graphic Design, but my hope is to become an interior decorator! Ole Miss, unfortunately, doesn’t offer interior design so Graphic Design is the next best thing for what I am wanting to do. I have always loved arts and crafts since I was little. That was definitely my favorite subject where I focused the most in school (sorry mom)! And the older I have gotten, my passion for design has just blossomed tremendously. Most people binge watch shows on TV and Netflix like Orange Is The New Black, but then there’s me… I binge watch HGTV on both! I love going shopping for clothes, don’t get me wrong, but my favorite things to shop for is my room at home and house at school. I always want to add this, change that, paint this! So why wouldn’t I want to do that for a living? It would be endless amounts of decorating homes and shopping at Home Goods! But say I don’t find a job as an interior designer, I would also enjoy being a graphic designer! I am my sorority’s t-shirt chair and find it so much fun constantly making unique, fun, and bomb t-shirts/merchandise. I know either way neither would feel like a job and that’s what I love!

At school, you can find me…

in Alpha Phi at Ole Miss like I mentioned! I am really involved in Alpha Phi and love it. We are new to Ole Miss. This is actually our first year but we are a force to be reckoned with. We are building the most beautiful house and I cannot wait to see it!

The coolest class I’ve ever taken is…

the “Freshman Year Experience” class! Odd, I know… I dreaded it as first but after being in it and getting to see it for myself, I loved going every day! We learned all about the university and the history behind everything Ole Miss. Including why we say “Hotty Toddy” and more!

My ideal first date would be…

just a simple late dinner and spending the time talking and getting to know each other first. The most successful relationships start off as a friendship. I think that’s why my boyfriend and I have worked out so well. We were friends first! I read this quote once and it’s how every girl should feel in a relationship. “I had never felt a friendship like I had with him. I knew I would always like him as much as I loved him.”

My favorite late night study snack is definitely…

between Nutty Butty Bars or Goldfish! I’m such a child. I love all foods so that’s a tough one.

If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…

want to spend them with every single person I love, just letting them know how thankful, grateful, appreciative I am of each and every single one of them. Letting them know what an impact they all have had on my life and definitely letting them know how much they each are loved. We all should live each day like it is our last. Life is so very precious and can slip away in an instant!

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…

how violence-filled our world is. I wish instead of resulting to violence, people would just take a step back and pray about it. Ask God to guide them in the right direction and away from the wrong direction. I also would want to let everyone know that for every hard time, a good one is coming. You just have to remain faithful to God and trust His plan is bigger and better than any plan you could have for yourself. My mom and grandma instilled in me that God gives His hardest battles to His strongest soldiers. I hope none of you forget that!

I’m going to be miss coed 2017 because…

it would be an awesome opportunity and give me the chance to possibly make a difference and change some people’s ideas on Ole Miss and other things in life. The slightest words or things a person says/does can make the biggest difference. And how incredible would it be if I could do that!
