University of Minnesota, Freshman

I love my college because…

I wanted to get away from the small-town feel that I grew up with all my life, but I also didn’t want to be too far from home. I chose it because the minute I stepped foot on campus, it felt like home to me, and I feel like that’s something you need when being on your own for the first time.

I really hate when…

things aren’t organized. I need to have everything in my dorm organized, and having three roommates definitely makes that nearly impossible. I love to clean, so I don’t really mind it, but if anything is out of place for too long and others don’t clean, I go crazy.

I major in…

Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary Production emphasis. I hope to one day open my own vet clinic.

My hometown is awesome because…

it only consists of 231 people, and I really appreciate the silence and peace that comes with small towns. Having moved to the Twin Cities, I don’t really get a lot of that anymore, and I definitely took that for granted when I was living at home.

At school, you can find me…

currently involved in the pre-veterinary club here on campus.

The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…

Animal Handling. Working with animals has always been a passion of mine, but I don’t live on a farm and that’s definitely something I wish I could’ve done sooner.

My ideal first date would be…

something simple. I don’t like complicated dates that are really planned out and have a set schedule. I would rather just spend time with the guy doing something we both enjoy and just get to know each other without it feeling forced.

My favorite late night study snack is…

oatmeal raisin cookies or fruit snacks. Either one is delicious!

If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…

spend it with my friends making the most of the time I have left with them.

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…

how people perceive others. There’s so much hate in the world, and I just feel like everyone should be accepted for who they are rather than what they look like, how they talk, or what gender they go by, etc.

If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…

you’re going to get your heart broken a couple of times and it’s going to hurt more than anything, but don’t give up. Push through whatever life throws at you because you’ll be happy again. Like really happy. So just focus on the long term rather than the short term, and everything will be okay.

I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…

Honestly, I just thought it sounded really cool and fun and thought I’d give it a try.
