ABOUT Marissa
University of Minnesota, Freshman
I love my college because…
when I visited for the first time, I fell in love. The campus is absolutely beautiful and there’s always activities to attend. I’ve lived in Minnesota my whole life, and I wanted to stay close to home. My school takes a lot of pride in everything it stands for and I love it. I couldn’t see myself anywhere else.
I really hate when…
someone lies to me. No matter what the situation is.
I major in…
Psychology, and I am planning to get my Bachelor of Science degree and then go through four years of medical school to become a surgeon.
My hometown is awesome because…
it’s where most of my family is. I’m very close with my family and leaving them would be extremely hard. I also just love the environment and all of the places around my area.
At school, you can find me…
involved in the Undergraduate Surgery Club that I really enjoy being a part of. It helps me gain knowledge that I’m excited to learn earlier than waiting until medical school.
The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…
since I am only in the second month of my first semester in college, I don’t necessarily have a favorite yet. I did take college courses my senior year of high school, though, and my favorite class from then was General Psychology.
My ideal first date would be…
something really laid back. An inexpensive dinner (after all, I am a broke college student) and maybe a movie.
My favorite late night study snack is…
chips, whether it be Doritos, Fritos, or Cheez-It’s.
If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…
spend them with my family and closest friends on an ocean beach somewhere.
If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…
the rape culture.
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…
these classes WILL matter for college!!
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I’m really passionate about the college I attend, and I love telling people about it. I like to be able to tell people why they should go here.
