ABOUT Heather
Michigan State University, Senior
I love my college because…
my entire family (on my mom’s and dad’s sides) went to the University of Michigan. Throughout my whole life, I was raised to be a Wolverine, but once I started applying to colleges, I wanted a school of my own, so I picked U of M’s number one rival. Michigan State University is amazing because the people are extremely intelligent but always down to have fun. Everyone at Michigan State is extremely welcoming. The game day atmosphere is better than any other school I have visited.
I really hate when…
people are not respectful toward one another. If everyone simply respected one another the world would not have nearly the amount of problems it does.
I double major in…
Psychology and Criminal Justice. I had an internship this summer at a public defense law firm and would love to attend law school after I graduate this May.
My hometown is awesome because…
it’s super small. I grew up on eight acres, so I love anything that deals with the outdoors. East Lansing is a super fun city to live in, but I miss the nature I had back home a lot.
At school, you can find me…
working out! I workout at least five days a week. Running is another passion of mine. I love how it’s a private time for you to be alone with your own thoughts and clear your head.
The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…
Criminal Procedure that I took my junior of college. It was extremely interesting. I learned about multiple cases and how a lot of the laws we have in place were brought about. It was a lot like a law class so I found it extremely fascinating despite it being difficult.
My ideal first date would be…
a small date to a coffee shop. Although dinner and a movie is always perfect, I feel like I would save that for someone I knew a bit better than just a first date. Doing something small together relieves a lot of pressure and gives you time to really get to know a person.
My favorite late night study snack is…
obviously I have to go with pizza!
If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…
be sure I surrounded myself with my friends and family going to the most extravagant restaurants in the area and eating as much as I possibly could.
If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…
how much people can hate one another. I think it’s depressing how forgiveness is so rare in this world.
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…
to remember that everything is always temporary; enjoy the small things in life.
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I think it would be a wonderful opportunity to represent MSU. I would love to bring a positive outlook on life to everyone I came into contact with. More people need someone to remind them life is too short to be anything but happy. 🙂
