Virginia Tech, Junior

I love my college because…

Virginia Tech is everything I’ve always dreamed about when I thought of college, growing up. It’s right in the heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, it’s full of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and there’s always something fun to get into! The football games are definitely a plus as well! Spend one day here and you’d be able to feel the Hokie spirit. I have so much love for this place, I call it my second home.

I really hate when…

people just complain about every little thing in their life. It’s so important to have a positive attitude on things, it can change your whole perspective! Life is good!

I major in…

Wildlife Conservation. I hope to use it to my fullest ability in aiding animals in need by helping the endangered species, injured animals, and the environment.

My hometown is awesome because…

it is very close to my college town- about 45 mins away! So I really love that I can go home on a Sunday and see my family and pets if I want to. Salem is a very small town where everyone knows everyone, which was nice growing up because we were all friends. Being close to some of the most beautiful hiking spots was a plus too!

The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…

“Geography of Wine” and it was so much fun! Our actual homework was to drink wine with friends!

My ideal first date would be…

going to a cooking class or salsa dancing class together. Something that breaks the ice and also allows you to see so much about their personality.

My favorite late night study snack is definitely…

celery and peanut butter boats!

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…

the standards that people have set in their minds. I believe the world would be such a limitless and interesting place if people weren’t judged or held to a certain standard of living.

If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…

“Do not care what they think! And everything will work out exactly how you want it!”

I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…

I feel like I embody everything you all are looking for and I would be more than happy to represent Virginia Tech in such an awesome way!
NOTE: Heidi Hoback has since transferred to George Mason University; however, because the competition is in the semifinals, she must remain in the ACC category.
