ABOUT Abigail

Syracuse University, Senior

I really hate when…

people put themselves above others and judge people before getting to know them.

I major in…

Communication and Rhetorical Studies in the Visual and Performing Arts School. I would love to work in the music industry to help find new and upcoming artists. But I also have a strong interest in PR and Marketing, so I would definitely be happy finding a job in those fields.

My hometown is awesome because…

BAGELS. I’ve had a lot of bagels in my day but none of them compare to Sunrise Bagels. However, 3 years ago I moved to Fairfield, CT and no longer live in Montclair. If I ever find myself in Jersey, you’ll know where to find me.

At school, you can find me…

in a sorority called TriDelta, which has played a major role in my experience at ‘Cuse. We work with St. Jude and help raise money annually to show our dedication and support to the foundation. Freshman year I was in the boxing club, but now I just love going to the gym in my spare time. For senior year I’m hoping to get more involved in the student run group called University Union as they plan all of the major events on campus.

The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…

a course called “Live Music Promoter,” this past fall. I learned a lot about booking an artist, being a promoter, and was even able to work a couple shows in Syracuse. It was one of the few classes I looked forward going to.

My ideal first date would be…

going to a carnival/fair because there’s a lot to do and it’s a great way to get to know your date. Also, if you change your mind about your date you can run and easily hide because those fairs are always very crowded.

My favorite late night study snack is definitely…

ice cream and cookies. So at school I’ll usually give Insomnia a ring if I need a little snack motivation. However, I also love pizza… so Domino’s has also gotten their fair share of phone calls from me.

If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…

acceptance and awareness. There has been too much violence going on in both our country and others. It all stems down to people not being accepting of others and only thinking their beliefs are valid. I also think people need to educate themselves and be more aware of the reality of the world. I’m very fortunate to have been raised where I was. There’s a lot of tragedy out there and I think by raising awareness it could help put a stop to many of the issues out there.

I’m going to be miss COED 2017 because…

I’ve always liked being a leader and inspiring others. I was field hockey captain and president of an organization called Healing Spaces. I think to be miss COED 2017 would be an opportunity for me to influence girls both my age and younger not only to pursue what makes them happy but also find a way to help make a difference in the world.
