ABOUT Annie

University of Notre Dame, Sophomore

MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…

I love my college because it resonates all the values that are most important to me. First, Notre Dame is a Catholic university which allows me to express and celebrate my faith, not only through spiritual activities, but also in academics. Notre Dame is also very accommodating to people of all religions or lack thereof through clubs and multicultural events. I also love how my school accepts students from around the world. I remember calling my mom after the first week of school my freshman year and she asked what I have learned the most since arriving. I told her I had learned more from my fellow students and amazing faculty that first week of school than I had my entire life. After all, “Catholic” means universal, and that is exactly what Notre Dame is.

THE COOLEST PLACE TO PARTY ON CAMPUS IS…

Don’t judge us on this one, but dorm parties are defiantly the big party scene for freshman and part of sophomore year. Besides dorm parties, there are off campus houses owned by sports teams and different dorms. Upperclassmen tend to hang around bars and “Michiana’s hottest nightclub,” Club Fever, otherwise known as the infamous “Feve.”

THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…

There are so many memorable and wonderful things about my school, many revolving around the football atmosphere. However, there is a tradition at Notre Dame that the night after the first snowfall, there is a school-wide snowball fight on South Quad. It was not only a blast but it also showed the quality of the Notre Dame community.

I MAJOR IN…

So far I am double majoring in marketing at the Mendoza College of Business, and peace studies at the Keogh School of Global Affairs. Right now, I am torn between working for a large marketing firm focusing on social media, or working for a non-profit/ starting my own.

AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…

I am involved in PRISM ND (the LGBTQ and ally club), Right to Life (Pro-Life club), Best Buddies ND, She’s the First Club, Student International Business Council, and I am on the Notre Dame Dance Company.

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I would have to say Santorini, Greece. The culture and beauty I have seen through pictures seems surreal.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?

I believe I deserve to be Miss COED 2016 because I have so much love and passion for my school. What’s not to love about it? We’ve got world-renowned education and staff and a top-ranked football team.

IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Don’t take yourself too seriously. Set yourself up to fail sometimes, not only is it humbling, but you will learn from it and come out as a better, bigger, and stronger person.
