ABOUT Savannah
Sierra College, Sophomore
I love my college because….
Sierra College is the best community college in California, and arguably one of the best in the nation! Sierra has some of the best ranked teachers, the broadest degree programs, and is affordable for anyone looking to further their education.
I really hate…
Underwear lines.
I major in…
I am majoring in Occupational Therapy and minoring in Recreation! My goal is to work with kids with Down syndrome. Occupational therapy will give me the tools I need to help children with Down syndrome develop better motor skills. Recreation will help me to create a kids camp for Down syndrome children, like a summer program, to bring that community together.
My hometown is awesome because…
Cameron Park is where I was born and raised! We have a saying in CP that goes, “You can leave CP, but CP never leaves you!” We are a super tight-knit community, where everyone knows everyone, and there is always someone lending a hand when a neighbor is in need!
At school, you can find me…
as a swimmer at Sierra College, a cheerleader for University Cheer Force “Firestorm,” and a coach for a recreational swim team called Sierra Sharks!
The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…
Human Sexuality, for sure! After taking that class I realized how messed up our sex ed is in high schools and middle schools around the U.S. We need more than just the “condom on the banana,” if you know what I mean!
My ideal first date would be…
Taco Bell or In-N-Out! Honestly, just like anything that has to do with food. Or dinosaurs, I friggen’ love dinosaurs.
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…
I’d tell her: “Don’t worry, puberty will hit and you will get boobs, don’t worry!”
If I could change one thing about the world, I would…
make dinosaurs not extinct anymore and create a real Jurassic Park!
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I’d love to represent Sierra College because community colleges get a bad rap sometimes! I’ve heard them called “traps,” “hell holes,” etc, but being at Sierra College has saved me thousands in tuition as I’m only paying $24 a semester! Along with price, Sierra has an amazing athletics department, and the Sierra College swim team just won our Conference, both men and women! With being at an amazing school, I think I am the best representative and would love to be Miss COED 2017!
