ABOUT Karla
Willamette University, Sophomore
I love my college because….
we are ranked number one in the state for academics and sit across the street from the Capitol building. It’s makes it better than the rest because it’s a family. It is my home away from home, it has the most amazing people I have ever met and I couldn’t have made a better decision for a community that has my back through every single thing.
I really hate when…
people feel the need to be fake and not themselves. Everybody seems to forget the main goal in life is to be happy. And lies do not help build.
I major in…
Politics and Spanish. I want to go to law school and go into criminal law to then become a judge.
At school, you can find me…
as an APhi and in love with every bit of it. I’m also part of intramural volleyball, indoor soccer, and grass volleyball. I will be joining the Willamette track team this coming fall.
The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…
a course on ethnic American literature. It challenged my writing and the way I examine what I read, along with the way I process the information I am given. It made me a better analyzer and writer.
My ideal first date would be…
probably any sort of sports game. I play a million sports and love watching them. I love the ambient and the competition of it all. It also makes everyone more relaxed and you can tell a lot about a person by their passion for a sport.
My favorite late night study snack is definitely…
gummy snacks!
If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…
refuse to die because I’m stubborn and I would need more than 24 hours to do all of the things I want to do and also to throw a goodbye party. But honestly, I could be doing anything as long as I got to sit down and watch the sunset with everyone I love.
If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…
the necessity that society feels to tell people what is wrong or right to feel and be. The sick desire to put people in these boxes because of the small minded influences believing everyone should be the same.
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I feel like I represent a college student almost exactly. I know what I want out of life and I don’t at the same time. College drives me up a wall but I’m in love with my alma mater and my family there. I’m figuring out who I am and I’m trying to shape the person that is going to influence the Earth in the future. I wanna rip my hair out sometimes because school is hard but there are also days where I couldn’t be more thankful for what I am.
