ABOUT Rachel
University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Sophomore
I love my college because….
I grew up in the country and wanted to go somewhere different than I was used to. Charlotte is an hour from my home. It has so many opportunities and so much to do. My school is better than the rest because it is very progressive and truly cares about their students.
I really hate when…
my nail polish chips.
I major in…
Pre-Kinesiology and my minor is Public Health. Hopefully I get into the Exercise Science program this fall. I want to graduate with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and then further my education by getting a Master’s for Occupational Therapy.
My hometown is awesome because…
it’s small and full of loving and caring people. I love small-town life because it’s a very peaceful atmosphere.
At school, you can find me…
playing sports. I used to play softball and volleyball. I like to go to sporting events. I am a member of the Student 49er Club, which is for school spirit. I am also in Kinesiology Student Organization (KSO), which helps for kinesiology students to learn more about the program and give back to the community. There are many volunteer opportunities.
The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…
Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries. I love my teacher. A good teacher can make any class great.
My favorite late night study snack is…
any sort of candy. I love suckers and sour gummy worms.
If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…
spend them with my friends and family, have a big cookout, and just laugh and have a great time. Nothing is better than spending time with the ones you love.
If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…
for everyone to live in harmony. World peace is something that will never happen, but it is nice to dream about what could be, especially with everything going on in Charlotte right now. Im scared as a student to even walk out my door. Life is too precious to be stealing, harming, or inflicting pain on anyone.
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, I would say…
Don’t be afraid to take chances. The person who watches the world go by gets no where. Have random conversations with people, and above all, be happy with who you are!
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I feel like it would be a great opportunity. I am always down to have new experiences and meet new people!
