ABOUT Madison
Oklahoma State University, Freshman; Miss COED 2016 Semifinalist
MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…
Not only is Stillwater absolutely beautiful, but you could literally strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. I feel like many campuses throughout the country don’t have the same community as Oklahoma State. This is my family, which is so important living so far from home.
THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…
The most memorable thing I have done is definitely follies. A sorority and fraternity pair up and hold tryouts where you have to sing and dance. Out of those, the few selected are taught a few songs and a few dances to show in front of judges and you compete against the other pairs. Practice is every night and very long but its a blast getting to know everyone in your group so well.
I MAJOR IN…
My major is psychology with a minor in business. I would love to go into social work or even non-profit overseas. I would also some day like to change the system of Child Protective Services to make it more productive.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I am in a sorority at Oklahoma State University, and I absolutely love it. I also volunteer at a women’s shelter for domestic violence, and I am currently running for Floor Representative for my dorm.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, it would probably be Rome to see the Colosseum. I have a dream of seeing all of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I believe Miss COED 2016 is more than just a picture perfect woman from a popular university. I think she needs to be an all-around good example (being well- rounded, honest, genuine and showing school spirit no matter how large her school is). Being Miss COED 2016, I could set an example for younger girls and maybe even older ones too, to LOVE who they are. This is more than a title; it’s an opportunity to make a difference. This may be my chance to get a message of self-confidence across to the thousands. Oh, and GO POKES!!!!!!!
IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
My advice would be to stay true to who you are. Yes, you may have heard it before, but when you get into college and are free, it’s easy to lose your own morals and values because you want to jump right in and meet everyone. This is great and finding yourself is what college is about, but just remember to always have your best interest at heart and in the back of your head, know how you want people to see you.
