ABOUT Daisy
University of Kansas, Sophomore
MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…
I love KU because the only time I’m annoyed is because I don’t have time to go to one awesome event because I’m already attending one just as cool. KU knows how to have the wildest weekends, but also how to make sure every student is getting the best education they possibly can. There’s also a class centered around Beyoncé; how much more rad could it get?!
THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…
Two weeks ago, I put down my non-refundable deposit to go to Moshi, Tanzania to help provide medicine, education and development to people experiencing poverty!
I MAJOR IN…
My major is visual arts, and I plan on minoring in peace and conflict studies. I plan on doing with it exactly as it sounds- saving the world through creativity! (I am also highly considering double majoring in women’s and gender studies as well as becoming pre-law).
OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…
I’m an activist. I fight hard for freedom, love, equity and everything good.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I am on the board for MEDLIFE KU, I’m a new member of the National Service Sorority Omega Phi Alpha, I enjoy weekly S.U.R.G.E meetings, I volunteer for CreateKU, and I am a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I am also a Jimmy John’s Delivery Driver!
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
There is no way I can come up with only one place I’d love to go. My dream is to visit as many places as possible! I honestly want to go everywhere and see everything. Why? Because look at this world we live in. How could anyone not want to see it all?
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I’ve got an insuppressible urge to make this world a better place and I think COED could help me along. I also want to encourage young women and stand up for everything we deserve. COED can make my voice even louder; COED can help even more people hear my screams for justice, peace, unity and everything in-between.
