ABOUT Logan
Temple University, Junior
MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…
I love my college because of the exhilarating energy that thrives on our campus. There truly is a Temple “feeling” and a universal friendship that unites all of the students, faculty, and alumni. Temple is diverse, and constantly changing. It thrives on accepting differences and exploring new cultures and experiences with a “#TakeCharge” mentality. I love my college because, not only has it given me the most amazing friends that I consider family, but it has also made me more “me” than I have ever been before.
THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…
I have had countless memorable experiences in college so far, but I would have to say my most memorable experience so far was live tweeting an event at 6abc Studios on behalf of the School of Media and Communication here at Temple! I got to meet so many incredible Temple alumni and current professionals and gain invaluable advice.
I MAJOR IN…
I am a journalism major, and my dream is to work for Cosmopolitan. I also love social media in addition to writing in-depth articles. My ultimate goal with my journalism career is to do something that matters and tell people’s stories. I am very passionate about people and talking to strangers and learning about their experiences, and I would love to turn that into a career.
OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…
I absolutely love strong female characters in movies, books, and TV shows! I think that fearless, successful female characters representing us in the media is so incredibly important.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I am a pretty busy girl! In addition to class, I work for the School of Media and Communication, writing articles for our website as well as managing the social media accounts. I am Editor-in-Chief of Temple’s brand new chapter of StreakU, a college media site. I am Campus Correspondent/ Co-President of Her Campus Tempe, an online magazine for girls covering topics such as arts and entertainment, fashion and beauty, health and fitness, and campus news. I am also Public Relations Chair for my sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon, and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I am also a member of Singchronize, Temple’s only all female a cappella group. This summer, I freelanced for my local paper The East Penn Press, as well as interned for Philly Weekly in the city.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I want to be Miss COED 2016 because I feel I can represent college women extremely well because of my dynamic college experience. I want to have the opportunity to inspire other college women, just like so many have inspired me. I want to help convey the message that no matter where you come from, it doesn’t determine where you’re going. I want to encourage young women to be their best selves and have a whole lot of fun while doing it.
IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
My biggest piece of advice is that the only limits you have are the ones you set for yourself. That is so important! Sometimes things can seem so out of reach, but you need to just go for it! Be that go-getter, and that girl that everyone asks, ‘How do you do it?’
