Temple University, Junior

MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…

My university is extremely diverse! Everywhere you look, there is someone of a different nationality, religion, and culture. Temple is welcoming to every size, shape, and color. The variety of people gives each student such an amazing experience! Living in Philadelphia is also so crazy! It’s very similar to New York; there is always something to see and something to do. The sites are amazing and the adventures are fun!

THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…

I am on my university’s dance team and every January, we compete at UDA nationals in Disney. This past year, we were the first Temple Dance Team to make it to finals in the D1A division. This division is filled with crazy talent and is such a hard division to compete in. Yet with all of our hard work and dedication, we made our dreams come true and made it to the finals. It was a huge accomplishment and honor to represent Temple in that way.

I MAJOR IN…

My major is kinesiology, which is the study of movement; it’s in the College of Public Health. My dream is to work in pediatrics! However, I would love to work with dancers or other athletes in rehabs or in their workplace.

AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…

I am on the Temple University Diamond Gem Dance Team. We perform at every home football and men’s and women’s basketball games. Our busiest season is definitely the fall semester. We start off with football then eventually football and basketball season begin to overlap. Once the fall semester is over, we stay at school over winter break to prepare for nationals in January. It’s a big-time commitment, but my teammates are my sisters, and my coaches are some of the biggest influences in my life. Being on a D1A dance team is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

Italy! I am 100% Italian and I have never been to Italy. At Temple, we can study abroad in Rome, but I don’t think with my major it would be the best option. That being said, I will definitely go there within the next 5 years. I want to see where my family is from and how they live.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?

I would love to be Miss COED 2016 because I love Temple University, and I would love to represent them in the best way I can! This school means so much to me; it’s where I met some of the most important people in my life and to represent it would be amazing.

IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

“Do what you love and love what you do.” College is where you chose what you want to do with the rest of your life. Chose wisely. Make sure you chose a career path that is going to supply you with a lifetime of happiness. You never want to look back and regret what you did you these four short years. Also, have fun but stay serious. School is obviously for studying and doing well, but having fun sometimes is not a sin!
