ABOUT Kristi Ann
UCONN, Senior
MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…
I love UCONN because it’s full of great people, great parties, and great athletics. When I was looking at schools, I wanted to find the one that I thought I could spend four years of my life at without having the desire to go home. That school for me just happened to be in my home state! UCONN has provided me with (so far) the best three years of my life, and I cannot wait to see what senior year has in store for me.
THE COOLEST PLACE TO PARTY ON CAMPUS IS…
Hands down the spot to be every Thursday and Saturday night is Huskies. This is a bar that’s widely known by everyone at this university. They have a special every Thursday from 7-8:45 and Saturday from 9-10:45 called Nickel Night. This is where everyone pays a $6 cover and gets a cup. You get a group of four and bring the cups up to the bar to be filled and all you have to pay is $0.25 per drink. Essentially the idea is to drink as many drinks as you can possibly get your hands on by the time nickel is over. The bar is absolutely packed, and it’s super hard to make your way to the bartenders.
THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…
I’m gonna be a typical cheerleader here and say that the most memorable thing that I’ve done since freshman year is go to the Final Four. As you’ve probably heard multiple times before, UCONN claims to be the Basketball Capital of the World, and I support this claim fully! Nothing is more exciting than being able to witness a national championship, and I’ve been able to do it twice! This past April, we went to Tampa with the team and all of my best friends got to go too. We had an absolute blast and that’s something that I’m never going to forget.
I MAJOR IN…
I am an HDFS (human developmental family studies) major! My goal is to be a guidance counselor after I graduate. I love the idea of getting to help people make the biggest decisions of their lives (such as choosing a college!) and supporting them through the most stressful period of their high school lives.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I am the captain of UCONN’s Cheerleading team, and I am a sister of Delta Gamma!!
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I want to be Miss COED 2016 because I know that I’m a perfect representation of my school and the whole AAC conference. I was Sports Illustrated cheerleader of the week in March and I would like to keep this positive ball rolling. I am involved in Athletics, Greek life, and am able to get all of my schoolwork done accurately and on time.
IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I know that this is something that parents usually tell 4-year-olds, but don’t judge a book by its cover. You never know what others are going through so it’s really important to be nice to everybody all the time. Unless they’re mean to you… Then you don’t need them in your life anyway! 🙂
