ABOUT Alison

University of Central Florida, Freshman

I MAJOR IN…

My major is elementary education, and unlike many other college students, I am not going to change my major. I have selected this major for multiple reasons based on interest and personal goals. I am very strong in my faith and have known since my freshman year of high school that I wanted to go into missions work. I also love kids. Therefore, I believe that teaching is a useful skill in places that are filled with poverty, where I will also be working with children.

OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…

One thing you should know about me is that I absolutely love singing and anything musical.

AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…

I am a part of ADPI in greek life at UCF. I love it; it is a great way to make friends and become more involved at your school while contributing to the community and practicing time management.

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

If I could go anywhere in the world, I would go on this cruise called “The World.” It takes you around the entire world in under a year. I would get an idea of each culture without spending an extended period of time in any one place.

DESCRIBE YOUR LAST FRIDAY NIGHT.

Last Friday night, I drove home with my big sister from my sorority and we saw Lady Antebellum in concert. It was so much fun and a great bonding experience for us! It was my first country concert, and from the lemonade to the BBQ fries, I couldn’t have asked for a better night!

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?

I want to be Miss COED 2016 because I am a well-rounded person. I am involved in my church, in Greek life, I am musically-inclined, and well-traveled. I have my future planned out and am very personable. I enjoy talking and meeting new people. I have many positive characteristics and qualities to offer!

IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

My one piece of advice would be to remain true to yourself; the rest will fall into place. Don’t allow fear of the future to blind the hope of the present.
