Why did you choose your school and what makes it better than the rest?
As corny and cliche as it may sound, it just felt right. It’s small enough where you run into familiar faces all the time but has this big university vibe to it. From it’s academic and athletic competitiveness to being one of the most rowdy party schools, everyone on campus oozes with Syracuse Orange pride.
What’s your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is definitely the Quad. When I’m walking to class and I see the Hall of Languages, one of the most iconic Syracuse buildings, it still sometimes feels like a dream that I actually go to this school. Passing through the Quad always seems to remind me of all the hard work I’ve put into getting myself here.
Where’s the best on-campus food and what kind is it?
The best on-campus food has to be Acropolis Pizza House for me. It’s this pizza place on Marshall Street owned by Greeks, but honestly I don’t even like it for the pizza. They have the best subs and cheese fries. Ugh and their fried ravioli is bomb too. You can bet almost every one of my nights out ends with some Acrop in my stomach.
What kind of activities are you involved in? (sorority, theatre, clubs, etc)
I’m a sister of the Omicron Chapter of Delta Delta Delta. I’ve also been involved with a program called Peer2Peer where we work with local people with disabilities.
If you had to choose one social media to use for the year, what would it be and why?
Instagram, hands down. I could easily deactivate all my other accounts right now and be completely content with Instagram only. I think the way we share our photos and memories says a lot about who we are as people. In a way it’s kind of like a creative outlet.
What’s your major/what are you thinking of majoring in?
My major is Human Development and Family Science. I eventually want to go to graduate school and gear my focus towards Art Therapy.
Who’s the most famous graduate from your school?
There’s so many famous graduates from Syracuse but I’d probably have to say Carmelo Anthony. We’re well known for our athletics and he’s definitely one of the most famous athletes to come out of Cuse.
What do you know now that you wish you knew as a freshman?
Now being a senior, I’ve gone through so much change and I think most of us do during college. So I wish as a freshman I knew how much change was going to happen over the next four years. Maybe that way I wouldn’t have shed as many tears over trivial little things that seem so huge in the moment.
What’s your top song on Spotify right now?
My top song on Spotify right now is Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man. If you wanna get down and boogie, throw that song on and let the vibe take over.
