Donald Cerrone Shockingly Avoids Broken Orbital Bone; Open to Rematch

Donald Cerrone was on the wrong end of a doctor’s stoppage at UFC 238 after a vicious Round 2 beating at the hands of Tony Ferguson on Saturday, June 8 in Chicago, Illinois. The fight ended when Cerrone’s eye swelled shut and following the event UFC president Dana White said that “Cowboy” suffered a broken orbital.
With the way Cerrone’s eye closed, it didn’t seem like a far-fetched diagnosis.
However, not so fast, my friends.
Cerrone provided an update of his own and revealed that he simply had air in his eye after blowing his nose between rounds.
“I’m in Good Health. Thanks for all the message and concerns. Only air was in my eye,” Cowboy wrote on social media. “No broken bones nor cracked or broken orbital. Sitting and waiting for the Rematch or next fight.”

Cerrone’s representative from KHI Managment Josh Jones confirmed the news to MMAjunkie.com.
“Cowboy didn’t break his orbital,” Jones said. “All that swelling was from the air from blowing his nose between rounds. I was told Dana was told by a doctor that they need to send him to hospital to see if it was broken. Kid is strong as nails and wants to run it back.”
Cerrone was on a three-fight winning streak leading up to the bout with Ferguson and was on the brink of a title shot. However, the silver lining for Cerrone is that he earned another $50,000 bonus for Fight of the Night which was the 18th post-fight bonus of his UFC career which is a promotional record.
