The 2017 SEC Tournament is set to run from Wednesday, March 8 through Sunday, March 12 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Kentucky is the favorite out of the 14-team field, as they are currently ranked #8 in the country, and they won the regular season SEC title with a 16-2 record in conference play.
The Wildcats have won the last two SEC Tournaments, and if any school is going to stop them from three-peating, it’s most likely going to be Florida. The Gators are currently ranked #17 in the country, and they finished second in the SEC in the regular season, going 14-4 in conference games.
In the 2017 SEC Tournament, the top four seeds were given double byes, meaning that #1 Kentucky, #2 Florida, #3 Arkansas, and #4 South Carolina are already in the quarterfinals. The next six teams based on their regular season conference records were given single byes, so #5 Alabama, #6 Ole Miss, #7 Vanderbilt, #8 Georgia, #9 Tennessee, and #10 Texas A&M have already advanced to the second round of the tournament.
Now that the stage has been set, let’s breakdown the bracket and schedule of the 2017 SEC Tournament.
