MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…
Texas State has an absolutely beautiful campus. The entire school sits on top of a hill, and you can see it from any point in San Marcos. The river runs right through campus and students are always floating down it and swimming. It has a very laid-back feel but as a school, Texas State is on the rise. We are growing, and I think it’s exciting to be a part of this come-up.
THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…
We have a lot of school pride here, so we go all-out for sporting events. The most memorable thing I’ve done is go to my first college tailgate and football game. Everyone gets out to tailgate around 1pm and we party until the game starts. The student section has so much energy, it’s incredible.
I MAJOR IN…
I’m a psychology major and I’m minoring in sociology and German. After graduation, I have plans to live abroad and to go to graduate school in Europe. Eventually I’d like to work in human resources either in Europe or America.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I’m an active member of German club here. I play intramural flag-football and soccer, and I am the historian for PsiChi (the international Honor Society for Psychology). I’m also a representative for the Study Abroad Office.
DESCRIBE YOUR LAST FRIDAY NIGHT.
Party buses come to San Marcos every weekend and pick up people and take us to 6th street in Austin and back. So after floating the river and taking a recovery nap, a big group of us took a party bus to 6th. It was wild, just like any time at Dirty 6th.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I follow COED Twitter and so does just about everyone I know. I’m constantly getting links for something posted and it’s cool to see posts from my university as well as others. It’s an awesome way for students to be connected nationally.
IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
We’re only in college once so we better live it up now. Handle your shit and then wild tf out.
