ABOUT Emily
University of Louisiana at Monroe, Senior
I MAJOR IN…
I’m majoring in Biology/pre-med and minoring in Chemistry. I plan to go to medical school and become a cosmetic dermatologist.
OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…
I’m very superstitious. I have 3 lucky rings and I collect lucky pennies. If I forget my rings, I will turn around to go get them, because otherwise I know I’ll have a bad day! Weird I know.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I was a cheerleader my freshman year but I had to stop to avoid foot surgery. I am involved in multiple honor societies on campus including: Alpha Epsilon Delta, Beta Beta Beta, and I’m the student Vice President of Phi Kappa Phi. I am also an assistant president of ULM’s American Chemical Society.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
I would travel to Sicily, Italy because it’s absolutely beautiful and it’s where my family is from. My great grandpa was born in Sicily; he came to New Orleans to sell moonshine (turn up)!!
DESCRIBE YOUR LAST FRIDAY NIGHT.
Last Friday night, after celebrating a friend’s wedding, I went home to make pizza from scratch and drink tons of wine with my older brother (family girl)! It sounds lame but it was a lot of fun.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I want to be Miss COED 2016 because I believe I do a great job at representing my university. I love socializing and partying with my friends at school, and I still keep a great GPA, go to class, and find time to study for the MCAT somewhere between it all. I’m open and friendly to everyone I meet, and I feel that I fit the role of America’s College Sweetheart!
IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Although partying all the time is more fun than studying, failing classes isn’t cool! Learn how to manage your time and you’ll be able to make time for studying and hanging out with your friends. Also, don’t skip class. You’re paying for it and that’s literally the easiest part of making good grades in college. Don’t end up getting a letter grade lower than you deserve due to a low attendance grade!
