ABOUT Arden
Stanford University, Sophomore
THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…
The most memorable thing I’ve done since freshman year is playing for the USA Junior National Softball Team this summer. We travel all around the country to play and reach out to local communities. It has been an unforgettable experience. I have met friends that I will have for the rest of my life and the feeling of representing my country is one I will never forget.
I MAJOR IN…
My major is information technology with a concentration in society and media. The current technology boom along with social media has sparked my interest in this field. I love sports and would like to stay within the sports industry, possibly pursuing a career with ESPN.
OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…
One thing you should know about me is that I am adventurous. I love to try new things. I spend a lot of time outside because I live on the beach in South Florida and go to school in the beautiful sunny California weather. When I am home, I love to paddle board, wake board, wake surf, kayak, and spend time at the beach and pool.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I am a member of the Stanford Softball team. I am a catcher and third baseman. I played basketball in high school and have been around sports my whole life, so I enjoy going to as many sporting events as I can during the school year to support my fellow athletes. Also at school, I enjoy hiking and playing spike ball with my friends around campus. Stanford is an incredible place with incredible people there are always many new and exciting clubs to join and events to attend from acapella concerts to quittage matches.
DESCRIBE YOUR LAST FRIDAY NIGHT.
Last Friday night was my brother’s 17th birthday. I also got to see my dad for the first time in two months since I have been traveling around playing softball and he has been working. We spent the night by taking my brother and many of our friends out to his favorite restaurant and then went to see the movie South Paw. I baked my brother a homemade chocolate cake and bought him some new clothes! My family is very important to me, and since I do not see them often when I’m at school, I try to make the most of it when I’m home.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I would be honored to be named Miss COED 2016 and represent Stanford University and all other student athletes out there. I hope that I can inspire someone to go out and fearlessly chase his or her dream just like I have been chasing mine.
IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
One piece of advice that I would give the reader is not being afraid to venture out of your comfort zone. Try new things. You never know, you could find something and fall in love with it. Don’t be so quick to say “no.” Try something new that you never thought you would try with someone you never thought you would try it with. That’s how the best stories are made.
