ABOUT Kendall

University of Southern California, Sophomore; Miss COED 2016 WINNER 🏆

MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…

USC has always been my dream school, and to finally be here is still unbelievable to me. I love USC because our sports teams are amazing, tailgates are insane, and there is always something fun going on, even if it’s a Sunday night in January. Although USC is a pretty big school, the classes are small and discussion-based and the professors are always more than willing to help you get that A.

THE COOLEST PLACE TO PARTY ON CAMPUS IS…

Definitely the row. There is always a party going on at one of the frat houses, and now that I live in the Pi Phi sorority house, going out is even easier. However, if going to frat parties is not your thing, downtown LA and west Hollywood have my favorite restaurants, bars and clubs to go to.

DESCRIBE YOUR LAST FRIDAY NIGHT.

My last Friday day/night was incredible. The day started off by sleeping in a bit (my fav) then getting a call from friends to check out this new modern art museum in downtown LA called The Broad. I definitely recommend going there if you have not already. After spending 2+ hours looking at art there, we walked to the top of the Standard Hotel and spent 3 hours there eating dinner on waterbeds overlooking downtown LA. Finally, we ended the night at a frat party on the row. Solid night. 🙂

THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…

My whole freshmen year, I was actually studying abroad in Paris, France. I got to travel to 13 different countries, experience different cultures, learn a new language, meet a vast amount of unique new people, and have a completely life-changing experience. I went to Oktoberfest in Germany, scuba dived in the Mediterranean, gambled in the Monte Carlo Casino, went cliff jumping in Greece, chocolate-tasted in Belgium, spent Halloween in Amsterdam, drove scooters in Rome, went sightseeing in Prague, celebrated my 19th birthday in Barcelona, snowboarded in the Alps, sipped tea in London, and fell in love in Paris (with Paris). I can say without a doubt that this was he most incredible life-changing year of my life.

I MAJOR IN…

I am majoring in International Relations Global Business with emphasis in Marketing and minoring in French. I worked as the marketing assistant for a French fashion app called FITT when I lived in Paris. Now, I am the marketing and sales representing for White Pro Teeth company. Also I am looking into an internship with Google in London over the summer. I’m not exactly sure what I want to do in life but I know that I want to travel the world.

OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…

I’m an adrenaline junkie. I love riding motorcycles, wake boarding, snowboarding, cliff diving, surfing, scuba diving, and one day skydive! (I actually just signed up to go bungee jumping in a few weeks with my brother!) I love the outdoors, and I’m not afraid to get a little dirty!

AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…

I am a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority which works with the Read Lead Achieve Foundation. I am running for the position of Philanthropy Chair and will be in charge of different internal philanthropic events such as reading to a local kindergarten and tutoring children weekly. I am also apart of my school’s French club in hopes to advance my French skills. 🙂

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I would go back to Europe and visit all the countries I haven’t been to. I fell in love with the cultures in Europe and would love to experience and learn even more. I wanted to go to, but didn’t have the chance to go to: Hungary, Scotland, Ireland, Croatia, Norway, Austria, Portugal, Morocco, and so many more. I believe that traveling is the best education a person can get, as it challenges you in new ways and pushes you beyond your comfort zone.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?

To be Miss COED 2016 is to be a role model and influence to younger girls and girls my age. Miss COED 2016 should represent a motivated, intelligent, strong young women who can encourage girls to find their dream in life and follow it. I have always loved to lead and to encourage/motivate other girls. In high school, I was the cheer captain of the varsity cheer team, and I want to continue a role as a leader in college and my future career.

IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Do not let the opinion of others stop you from reaching your goals. In the beginning of high school, I cared a lot about what other people thought of me and restricted myself from being who I truly was. I quickly learned that the opinions of others didn’t matter, and I needed to be myself and have a voice. After my first year of college, I learned this fact even more and began to truly find myself and discover my hopes and dreams. Along with that, I learned that I can do anything if I truly set my mind to it and make it happen with determination and positivity. Having a good attitude is key in creating the life you want for yourself, so I encourage you to stay confident, positive, and determined to reach your goals in life!
