I MAJOR IN…
I am actually undecided at Purdue, and have learned that it’s okay to not know exactly what you want to do with your life right at this moment. Most students change their major many times. I am interested in The College of Health and Human Sciences, and I want to have a rewarding career someday where I interact with people/patients on a daily basis and make a difference in their lives.
MY COLLEGE KICKS ASS BECAUSE…
I love my college for so many reasons! Obviously Purdue is a Big Ten school, so we have just under 40,000 students. I love that it’s so big, and I love that it’s so diverse. Purdue has so many majors and clubs and things to get involved in for everyone. For me, it’s cheerleading, and I love being here and supporting our football, volleyball, and basketball teams. Also, I think we have a beautiful campus (despite what other might say) and the university is constantly adding on new infrastructure. I love being a part of sorority life here at Purdue as well; our Greek system is super close, and I’ve met a lot of great people so far!
THE COOLEST PLACE TO PARTY ON CAMPUS IS…
On Purdue’s campus, you have to go to the frats for the parties! Those are the best places if you’re going to go out. It’s a good time and I love being social butterfly! For those of age, the bars are where all the action is at!
THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…
Cheering. It is an absolute honor to be a cheerleader for a Division I Big Ten school. It’s a full-time job on top of school work and Greek life, but I love every minute of it. I love supporting our teams, in particular (football, volleyball, and basketball). I love representing my school and the feeling of contributing to something greater than myself.
OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…
I’m very serious and sensitive but in a sweetheart kind of way. I’m serious in that I want to make a good life for myself, and in order to get there, I need to take my school work very seriously and my commitments seriously. (If that means skipping a party, I will). I’m sensitive about a lot of things, and I think it’s because of how I was raised. I come from a small town in Indiana, my parents have been married for 20+ years, and I am very grateful for my home life. My dad has battled cancer for over 10 years now, and it has made me more sensitive to other’s emotions. People come to me for advice, and that makes me happy. I love helping and being a positive influence.
DESCRIBE YOUR LAST FRIDAY NIGHT.
I got ready at my sorority house, went to pick up my best friend from her sorority house, and we went to an apartment party with some of the athletes that we’re good friends with.
AT SCHOOL, I’M INVOLVED IN…
I am a member of the All-Girl Spirit Squad (Cheerleading) for the second year in a row. I am also a part of a sisterhood, Alpha Phi! I can’t wait for recruitment to start and to meet all the new incoming girls. It’s going to be exciting being on the other side of recruitment this year. Within Alpha Phi, we do community services hours on our own time, for example, Boys and Girls Club and walk the shelter dogs.
IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
Oh my goodness, there is no way I could choose just one place in the world to travel to. There are so many places I want to go. I want to travel the world and learn about cultures and just see different architecture. I’ve never been east of the Caribbean, so my first stop will most likely be somewhere in Europe. (Paris perhaps)? I know that sounds cliché, but I just really want to go to the Eiffel Tower.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?
I want to be Miss COED 2016 because I believe I’m America’s college sweetheart. I’m dedicated to my schoolwork, passionate about cheerleading and supporting Purdue athletics, socially active within the Greek community, and just an overall fun-loving and well-rounded girl.
IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Remember that everyday you live on this Earth is a blessing. Do something good everyday, smile at someone you don’t know, call your parents and tell them you love them, and be appreciative.
