The Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers will be facing off in a decisive Game 7 to cap off an epic World Series that was always destined to go the distance.
After winning 3-1 in Game 6 behind a solid effort from Rich Hill and their bullpen, the Dodgers were able to force a Game 7. Of the past 16 teams to force a Game 7 by winning Game 6, 14 have gone on to win the series. However, the visiting team has won the last two World Seris Game 7’s.
On the mound for the visiting Astros will be Lance McCullers Jr. McCullers got the win in Game 3, allowing three earned runs in 5 1/3 innings while striking out three. He has used his curveball even more often lately, throwing it for more than two-thirds of his pitches over his last two outings.
Starting Game 7 for the Dodgers is midseason acquisition Yu Darvish. Darvish stumbled in Game 3 after entering the World Series on a hot streak, yielding six hits and four earned runs while recording only five outs and one swinging strike. He’ll try to get back on track in a winner-take-all Game 7. However, with this being the last game of the season, expect both teams to use all the pitchers they have, except for Hill and Justin Verlander.
