The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to roll out episodes of its hit documentary series “UFC 25 Years in Short.” The series — which received a Sports Emmy Award nomination in the “Outstanding Edited Sports Special or Series” category — first premiered in 2018.

The latest of the documentaries to be released to YouTube is titled New York State of Mind: The Story of the Fight for Legalization in NY State.

“‘UFC 25 Years in Short’ premiered on UFC Fight Pass in fall of 2018, so the time is right to showcase it to a new audience,” UFC senior vice president of production and programming Chris Kartzmark stated.

As the name of New York State of Mind: The Story of the Fight for Legalization in NY State implies, the documentary is an inside look at the ugly political battle that took place to prevent mixed martial arts from being legalized in the state of New York.

Originally released on UFC FIGHT PASS, UFC 25 Years in Short is a 25-part documentary series celebrating the UFC silver anniversary. Here are some of the additional documentaries that have been released in recent weeks, including the story of UFC Hall of Famer and former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin and the recovery of another Hall of Famer, Matt Hughes, who was involved in a near-fatal accident when his truck was struck by a train.
