Jon Jones, who reclaimed the UFC light heavyweight champion with an impressive win over Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232, was facing more drug testing controversies leading up to the event. A flagged test from USADA forced the UFC to move the event from Las Vegas to Inglewood on one week’s notice, but now the champion can breathe a little sigh of relief.
According to the California State Athletic Commission, Jones passed his post-fight drug test following his win over Gustafsson.

Jones was tested by both the CSAC and U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. He is still awaiting drug test results from the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
After news of the passed test surfaced, Jones took to social media to deliver a message.
“Finished my so-called kryptonite before the championship rounds. Absolutely no jet fuel was found on the murder scene @alexthemauler just wanted to make sure you saw this,” he wrote on Instagram. “Seemed like that was the only thing you could focus on in our last fight. Interested to hear the excuses of my next few victims. Only 51 more days to go, will you be a witness?”

Later this month, Jones will meet with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to discuss his flagged test which included a trace amount of the M3 metabolite in oral turinabol. The meeting will be to determine the appropriate move forward for the two sides and could impact whether or not Jones can be licensed in the state moving forward.
It will have a direct impact on his scheduled title defense against top contender Anthony Smith which is set for UFC 235 at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
