Carli Loyd, the US Women’s soccer National Team captain, was easily the best player in the World Cup 2015 semi-final game against Germany. She scored one goal on a penalty kick and had another assist to Kelley O’Hara, icing the German squad.

Update 1/11/2016: Carli’s incredible performance in the 2015 World Cup has earned her a nomination for FIFA World Player of the Year.
She was just announced as being the Women’s Player of the Year.
