NASCAR Driver Graduates High School At Texas Motor Speedway [VIDEO]

Erik Jones NASCAR graduation

Erik Jones was a busy…um, man last Friday. He started his weekend by graduating from high school and jumping into a NASCAR Truck Series race. Jones may have missed the actual graduation ceremony at home in Swartz Creek, MI but got his actual diploma while at the Texas Motor Speedway from the speedway’s president Eddie Gossage–who wore a cap and gown for the occasion along with Jones. Jones would finish 11th in the race.

Jones became the youngest driver to win a truck series race last year at the tender age of 17. He’s now hopefully on to bigger things–since turning 18 allows  him to race on bigger tracks like the one in Texas. Jones is racing in a truck owned by Kyle Busch and will run another ten races this season for Busch’s team.

Jones could be on his way towards becoming the next young NASCAR superstar. We’re pretty sure that he’s already accomplished more than we ever did at 18 years old. Well, we graduated high school by then, but we didn’t have models joining us on stage…
