California State University- Fresno, Sophomore

THE MOST MEMORABLE THING I’VE DONE SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR IS…

I went on a blind date to a ΠΚΑ frat party called Winter Wasteland during Christmas time, and the guy turned out to be the hottest one there.

I MAJOR IN…

Biochemistry major, minor in art. I want to become a facial reconstructive plastic surgeon for people who have had severe facial injuries or deformities.

OH YEAH, AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY KNOW THAT…

I’m a life-long vegetarian, and I love animals. 🙂

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

Lisbon, Portugal to visit my foreign exchange student. I miss her so much; she’s like a sister.

DESCRIBE YOUR LAST FRIDAY NIGHT.

My last Friday night was actually a crazy one because I was at Coachella and I have never lost my voice so badly before, but I guess that just means I had a great time. I literally just danced to my heart’s content and met great people. In the morning, I took a yoga class, ate my fresh fruit and quinoa salad, and had the same day all over again 🙂

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE MISS COED 2016?

I have honestly never run for anything, but since I was notified about the competition by an editor of COED, I figured I’d just take a leap of faith and if it was meant to be, it would happen 🙂 I’ve always wanted to run for something that could help get my name out there.

IF YOU COULD GIVE OUR READERS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Balance is the key in everything you do. Dance all night long and practice yoga the next day. Drink wine but don’t forget your green juice. Eat chocolate when your heart wants it and a kale salad when your body needs it. Wear high heels on Saturday and walk barefoot on Sunday. Travel high and low. Move and stay still. Embrace all sides of who you are. Be brave, bold, spontaneous and loud and let that compliment your ability to find silence, patience, modesty and peace. Aim for balance. Make your own rules and follow your own path; don’t let anybody tell you how to live.
