ABOUT Abby
Oakland Community College, Junior
I love my college because…
I wasn’t 100% sure which career path I wanted to take yet and I love my jobs, so I wanted to stay home and still work while going to school. OCC is awesome because they offer a ton of classes, most of which transfer to universities. Each of the 5 campuses has a lot of different opportunities for students to get involved in clubs and activities. And a major bonus, OCC has saved me a BUNCH of money!
I really hate when…
you’re at the movies and it’s really quiet in the theater and someone crinkles their candy wrapper really loudly.
I major in…
Liberal Arts because it includes a lot of general classes, so it worked best for me since I was undecided. I currently have an Associate’s in Liberal Arts and am finishing classes to complete an Associate’s in Business Administration. I enjoyed my Intro to Business class, so I decided to take the other classes to complete my second Associate’s. My goal is to be a VIP Coordinator for artists and musicians on tour. I’ve always been fascinated by the music industry and being a VIP Coordinator would allow me to be involved in the industry while helping give fans the best VIP experience possible.
The coolest class I’ve taken so far is…
a psychology class in the winter of my freshman year. My professor was the nicest woman in the world, and she made the class really fun for everyone. Plus, psychology has always interested me so I enjoyed learning more about it.
My ideal first date would be…
something along the lines of bowling, going to the zoo, or mini golf. Then grabbing froyo after!
My favorite late night study snack is definitely…
anything chocolate!
If I had 24 hours left to live, I would…
spend it with the people who mean the most to me.
If I could change one thing about the world, it would be…
to change the power that money has.
If my younger self could talk to me now, she would say…
that she’s proud of how often I travel and how many concerts I go to.
I’m going to be Miss COED 2017 because…
I think it would be an awesome opportunity and I would love to represent OCC in a positive way.
