Royal Rumble is an upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view WWE event. It will take place on January 24, 2016, at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, at 8 PM EST. It will be the 29th Royal Rumble event.
Roman Reigns will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the Royal Rumble match. This will be the first time that a reigning champion has defended his title during the match and the second time that the title will be on the line.
This year’s Royal Rumble is a little different than usual. Traditionally, the winner of the 30-man Royal Rumble match was awarded a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania. However, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon decided on the January 4, 2016 episode of Raw that Reigns would defend his title in the match.
