Update (4:45 EST): The lockdown at the Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center has been lifted and the unidentified suspect is in the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department.
ABC 7 has reported that the LAPD found the suspect in an emergency room and did not find any evidence of a gun or a shooting.
Update (4:26 p.m. EST): The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that while an unidentified suspect is in custody following reports of a “man with a gun” at the Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center in Harbor City, they have not found any “evidence of a gun or a shooting.”
“We have taken the suspect of the Man with a Gun radio call at Kaiser Permanente South Bay into custody. At this point, we have no evidence of a gun or a shooting,” the LAPD’s tweet reads.
At this time, police have yet to clarify what caused the widespread reports of a man with a gun.
