Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is investigating a video of a sexual nature allegedly involving a university employee and one of his assistants, according to WAFB.
The university did not respond to the outlet’s request for a comment and will not speak publicly on the contents of the video. The school released only a brief statement on the matter Tuesday evening.
Southern University has received reports regarding a private video posted and shared online allegedly involving a university employee and/or student. Because of implications that a cyber-crime may have occurred, we take matters like this very seriously. It is our aim to provide a positive environment that is conducive to learning for our students and one that is supportive of faculty and staff in carrying out the University’s mission. To that end, we advise and caution our students and employees on the importance of data security as well as the ramifications of their conduct on social media. WAFB sources say that the video involves a high-profile member of the Southern University staff, though a university spokesperson declined to comment on who is seen in the footage. However, one of those involved in the tape is thought to be a married father who describes himself as deeply religious. The woman is believed to be a former student at the college working in the same department as the married man.
“No comment on personal matters because of privacy,” the spokesperson said in an emailed response to the news outlet.

Southern University and A&M College is a historically black university in the Scotlandville area of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The campus is on Scott’s Bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in the northern section of the city.
The school was established in 1880 and today has a total enrollment of 6,152.
