The Ultimate Fighting Championship heads overseas for UFC on ESPN+15 on Saturday, August 31. The event — which takes place at Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China — is headlined by a women’s strawweight championship bout between current titleholder Jessica Andrade and challenger Weili Zhang.
Andrade makes the first defense of her 125-pound title after shocking former champ Rose Namajunas with a devastating knockout (slam) in her last outing.
In the co-main event, China’s Li Jingliang takes on Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in a welterweight scrap.
UFC on ESPN+15 kicks off nice and early with the preliminary card beginning in the wee hours of the morning at 3:00 p.m. ET with Lara Procopio and Karol Rosa facing off in a women’s bantamweight bout. The feature bout of the ESPN preliminary card is Song Kenan vs. Derrick Krantz at welterweight. A women’s flyweight bout between Mizuki Inoue and Wu Yanan kicks off the main card at 6:00 p.m. ET.
But before the event could become official, all fighters had to step onto the scale for the official weigh-ins.
