Robbie Lawler is one of the top knockout artists in the UFC‘s welterweight division. The 170-pounder is a veteran of mixed martial arts and was able to claim the UFC welterweight championship in December 2014. Because of his heavy hands and highlight-reel finishes, Lawler is a fan favorite and one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.

During his reign at the top of the welterweight division, Lawler became the only fighter to have won three consecutive “Fight of the Year” awards from top publications like Sherdog and MMA Fighting. Lawler’s standout performances came against Johny Hendricks (at UFC 171, in 2014), Rory MacDonald (at UFC 189, in 2015), and Carlos Condit (at UFC 195, in 2016).

Lawler lost his title when he suffered a knockout loss to Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 in July 2016.

Prior to joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Lawler had won the SuperBrawl Middleweight Championship, ICON Sport Middleweight Championship, and Elite XC Middleweight Championship. After his run at 185-pounds, Lawler made the move back to 170 when he rjoined the UFC at UFC 157 in February 2013 with a Knockout of the Night performance against Josh Koscheck in Las Vegas.

Lawler, who is married to Marcia Suzanne Lawler and has one son, holds an overal professional mixed martial arts record of 28-13 (20 KOs), with one no contest.
