UFC welterweight Diego Sanchez gave an epic interview of a lifetime while speaking to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani during UFC 239 Media Days on Thursday, July 4. The original Ultimate Fighter winner discussed his upcoming pay-per-view bout with another TUF champion, Michael Chiesa, along with his decision to leave the famed Greg Jackson – Mike Winklejohn MMA team in Albuquerque, New Mexico and much more.
It was vintage Diego Sanchez as he channeled his unique energy and left Helwani speechless.
“I’m not this old guy, I’m the jedi. You’re gonna see a change. You don’t get the old man, you get the real man, the man, the wise man,” Sanchez proclaimed during his 17-minute rant. “I am a jedi. I’m anti-ageing and I proclaim that I am coming for my destiny right now.”
Sanchez also warned people not to count him out and explained that he expects to hold a UFC title belt before the end of his career.
