The Utimate Fighting Championship returned to pay-per-view on Saturday, April 13 for UFC 23 featuring two interim title fights. The main and co-main event delivered in a big way, with fans at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on their feet.
Dustin Poirier upended Max Holloway in the main event, ending the featherweight champion’s bid to become a two-division champion, while Israel Adesanya rallied in Round 5 to knock off Kelvin Gastelum to claim the interim middleweight championship for one of the most exciting fights of the year.
Holloway, Poirier, Gastelum, and Adesanya all earned $50,000 for their efforts, with the Ultimate Fighting Championship handing out two Fight of the Night bonuses.
