On Saturday, March 2, Jon Jones returned to action at UFC 235 in Las Vegas, Nevada to defend his light heavyweight championship against top contender Anthony Smith in the main event of the UFC’s pay-per-view event at T-Mobile Arena.
Jones entered as the heavy favorite, but Smith was hoping to shock the mixed martial arts world.
When it was all said and done, the fight went to the judge’s scorecards with Jones continuing to prove his dominance in the 205-pound division with a unanimous decision (48-44, 48-44, 48-44) victory. With the win, ones tied Anderson Silva for most consecutive fights in UFC history without a loss (16).
The only question now is whether Jones will find another contender at light heavyweight or whether he will make the long-discussed move to the heavyweight division.
