The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned north of the border on Saturday, October 27 for UFC Fight Night 138: Volkan vs. Smith at SMG Moncton in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. The main event was in the light heavyweight division between No. 2-ranked contender Volkan Oezdemir and Anthony Smith, who is ranked No. 10 at 205 pounds.
In the co-main event, Artem Lobov faced off against Michael Johnson, who is a late replacement for Lobov’s originally scheduled opponent Zubaira Tukhugov. Tukhugov was pulled from the bout following his involvement in the post-UFC 229 fracas between his teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, who is a teammate of Lobov.
Overall, it was an incredible night of fights with back-and-forth action, impressive submissions, and knockouts, and a perfect fight to end the night.
