“The Mind of Jake Paul,” an eight-part documentary focusing on the life of YouTube star Jake Paul and directed by fellow YouTube Shane Dawson, is set to premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 25. The documentary follows Paul and gives an all-access look at his every day life leading up to his pay-per-view boxing match against Deji in August.
Dawson has previously directed The Real Truth About TanaCon and The Secret World of Jeffree Star. Combined, the two trailers have more than 100 million views. Both of the previous docuseries were three parts, making “The Mind of Jake Paul” his biggest project yet.
“I know it’s controversial but i really wanna try more things like this on my channel,” Dawson said when he officially announced the documentary earlier this month. “I wanna try things i’m genuinely fascinated by and interested in. The ups and downs of Jake Paul’s life and persona is something I would LOVE to see from the inside.
“I’ve never done anything like this before,” Dawson says in the trailer’s opening shot. “This is making me f-cking crazy. Now I get it. Now I understand. I understand why Jake is crazy. Because nobody wants to be completely honest, right? And now I’m just f-cked.”
