Justin Gaethje and James Vick faced off in the main event of UFC Fight Night 135 at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday, Aug. 25. The two top ten lightweights capped off an exciting night of fights on FOX Sports 1 and it didn’t take long for a winner to be determined.
Less than 90 seconds into the opening frame, Gaethje uncorked a hellacious right hook that landed square on Vick’s chin, immediately sending his 6-foot-2 opponent crumbling to the mat.
Just like that, it was a one-punch knockout for Gaethje that got him back in the win column and earned him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

Next up for the UFC is a pay-per-view event at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Sept. 8. The event, UFC 228, is headlined by a welterweight title fight between Tyron Woodley and Darren Till. In the co-main event, inaugural women’s flyweight champion Nicco Montano makes her first title defense when she takes on Valentina Shevchenko.
