Demi Lovato has been rushed to a Los Angeles area hospital after suffering what appears to be a heroin overdose. In June, Lovato released a new song called “Sober” where she revealed she had fallen off the wagon. Lovato was treated with Narcan at her home when paramedics arrived.

She has struggled with addiction and substance abuse for years. She had previously been 6 years sober from cocaine, alcohol, and Oxycontin.
Lovato, born August 20, 1992, her first studio album Don’t Forget in 2008 after signing with Hollywood Records. In total, Lovato has released six studio albums: Don’t Forget, Here We Go Again(2009), Unbroken (2011), Demi (2013), Confident (2015) and Tell Me You Love Me (2017).
She most recently performed on Sunday, July 22, at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles with Iggy Azalea and was scheduled to appear in Atlantic City this upcoming week.
Her most recent single “Sober” was released in June 2018.
“Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor/And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human,” she sings on the track.
The 25-year-old pop star ended the track with, “I’m sorry that I’m here again / I promise I’ll get help / It wasn’t my intention / I’m sorry to myself.”
