Pop star Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospitalized on Tuesday, July 24, according to TMZ Reports. Lovato was rushed to the L.A. hospital after suffering from an apparent overdose. It was initially reported that Lovato overdosed on heroin, but her team has denied those reports. She was transported from a home in Hollywood Hills just before noon local time and her condition was not immediately known. The news comes nearly one month to the date of the release of her new song “Sober.”
The emotional, raw track details a relapse Lovato had after six years of sobriety as she battles addiction.
“Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor/And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human,” she sings on the track.
Immediately after the news surfaced on social media, the Twitter community began sending out their prayers and best wishes to Lovato, while also commenting on the dangers of opioids and addiction.
