Drake is keeping up a busy summer by releasing a new freestyle. On Saturday, July 7, Drake followed up his “Scorpion” double-album by making an appearance on Link Up TV to drop his “Behind Barz” freestyle. In the latest track, Drake reminisces about his career on the mic.
“I got way too big off “Views”/Back to the basics, I won’t lose,” he raps. “They wanna link when they got no tunes/They too worried about sellin’ out shoes.”
Many believe the line about “sellin’ out shoes” is another shot at Kanye West. He also drops the line “man start dissin’ and doing reposts” which everyone also believes goes after Pusha T, who Drake had a very public beef with earlier this year. After Drake and Pusha T released diss tracks aimed at each other, Pusha T continued to “repost” reactions from Kanye West about the feud. There is also a much less veiled line in the freestyle, which plays off of Kanye’s “Kids See Ghosts” album and mentions “P and his bro.”
