Actor Vince Vaughn, who most recently starred in the action film Brawl in Cell Block 99, which cast him in a prison riot following an incarceration, was arrested early Sunday morning in Hermosa Beach, as confirmed by the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

What happened?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, gt. Matt Sabosky confirmed that Vaughn was stopped at a DUI checkpoint around 1 A.M. local time. An unidentified passenger was also reported to be in the car with the actor.
Vaughn was arrested, being charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest; his passenger was also arrested and charged with public intoxication. They were taken into custody at the Manhattan Beach Police Department early Sunday morning, but they were released later that morning.

The actor was arrested back in 2001 over an incident in North Carolina

Back in 2001, Vaughn was arrested in North Carolina after a bar brawl during an incident in which fellow actor Steve Buscemi was stabbed. Vaughn was arrested for assault in the incident, although the charges were later dropped.
Vaughn is arguably best known for his work in comedies from the 2000’s like Wedding Crashers, The Break-Up and Dodgeball. As mentioned above, Vaughn’s latest film role was in 2017’s Brawl in Cell Block 99, which notably cast the actor in a prison riot after being incarcerated.
According to Variety, he can also be seen in the second season of HBO’s True Detective as Frank Semyon. He will also appear in the upcoming WWE biopic Fighting With My Family, which is currently in post-production and is set for a 2019 release.
