Two Polk County officers were shot, and one was killed during a shooting in the area of Santa Claus Road and Highway 100. One female suspect has been taken into custody. While another suspect set off an intense manhunt, as he allegedly is the one who shot two policemen, killing one.
Update (9/29/17; 3:01 P.M. EST): After an intense manhunt, the suspect Seth Brandon Spangler has been captured and arrested.

One officer was shot, but saved by his bulletproof vest. Meanwhile, another officer wasn’t so longer, as he died from his gunshot wounds.
The second suspect in the shooting, Seth Brandon Spangler, is still at large. He is accused of shooting two police officers, and killing one. He is said to be wearing a backpack. Here is his mug shot.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued a blue alert and a statement, describing the suspect, Seth Brandon Spangeler as a white male, who is 5’8″, 130 lbs, and has brown eyes and hair. The bureau suggests that he is in the area of 123 Santa Clause Road, Cave Spring, GA. This is the first time that the bureau has ever issued an emergency alert since it was established in 2010.
They also warned residents not to approach the suspect, as he is “considered armed and dangerous, do not approach, dial 911.”
“We have everyone from the surrounding counties out here,” the sheriff in nearby Floyd County told the Polk County Standard Journal. “We’ve got helicopters in the air and tracking dogs.”
