Born Belcalis Almanzar, Cardi B. is an American rapper, songwriter, television and social media personality, and actress. Born and raised in the Bronx, Cardi began a career as an exotic dancer and began to receive relative fame through her social media accounts.
In 2015, Cardi became a regular cast member of the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York. Two years later, Cardi signed her first major label record deal with Atlantic Records.
